Money Exchange: Major credit/debit cards are widely accepted. ATMs are available at most banks in urban areas. On the Galápagos Islands, currently only Mastercard is accepted.
Banks open Mon-Fri 0830-1600/1700; Sat mornings

Tipping: Tip 10% of the bill unless a service fee is included, additional small amounts are appreciated. Round up fare for taxi drivers.

Petrol Costs: One litre of petrol 31p, moderate meal £2.50, four-mile taxi ride £1.40, a beer 55p. All costs will vary.

Vaccinations: Diphtheria,Hepatitis A,Tetanus ,Typhoid
Vaccination against yellow fever is recommended if travelling to the east of the Andes
Altitude sickness is a risk, particularly if flying directly into Quito. Give yourself time to acclimatise before setting off into the mountains. Walk slowly and drink plenty of water. Always use sunscreen lotion even on cloudy days.
